Singer-Songwriter Jeffrey A. Meyer Espouses the Wonders of Romance in New Upbeat Ballad, “Easy With You”

The sky is the limit for Santa Cruz based recording artist Jeffrey A. Meyer. The singer-songwriter who was born and raised in North Dakota, channels his music creativity into a wondrous amalgamation of sound which includes pop, rock, folk, funk and underpinnings of country. Such a diverse palette of music!
Jeffrey’s extensive music background includes his time as a co-founder and member of a rock band, The Fillers, who had a successful touring run across the upper Midwest U.S., however, Jeffrey is now in the throes of a blossoming solo career which he has manifested into a debut album titled Wilder Times. The “Wilder Times” album is a project which consists of 12 marvelous songs and compositions resulting from a variety of international collaborations, including Dave Roe, who is acclaimed for his work as a bass player for over a decade for music icon Johnny Cash.
The songs on the album are extremely engaging in lyrical content and concepts while also possessing an illustrative musicality that gives the illusion of telling a story which each note that you hear. With that said, we’re going to spotlight a single from Jeffrey’s 12-piece gem called “Easy With You”. This pop/rock single is a light-hearted, jovial song which touches on the joyous aspects of romance…a romance where both parties are actively engaged in the relationship and not taking for granted the simple things they do for each other.
Jeffrey shares a quick backstory about “Easy With You” as he reflects, “I wrote and recorded this song in my self-built 5×10 wood tiny camper that I live in. The song was recorded on my birthday. It is in promotion for my debut album “Wilder Times.” The album was just released on 6/3“.
The instrumentation of “Easy With You” is bright, crisp and has a lively pizazz to it which is accentuated by a twangy, lead guitar riff that drives the melodic component of the song. The phrase creates an enthralling groove that ropes you in as Jeffrey provides an illuminating vocal performance. I feel that his easy-going, yet emotive vocal delivery adds to the overall cheery aura that the song brings about. Hey, after hearing tons of sad songs that are out there and tales of doom related to love, “Easy With You” is a breath of fresh air. Jeffrey conveys the sentiments of the song perfectly sounding like a man simply happy as all get out with his relationship.

Santa Cruz based artist Jeffrey A. Meyer mixes a collection of sounds ranging from funk, folk, rock, to pop. Living in a self built 5X10 wood camper in the hills overlooking the coast, Jeffrey wrote a majority of the songs featured on his debut album “Wilder Times.” Love, heartbreak, good times, and life gave Jeffrey all the inspiration needed to write and record his album. “Wilder Times” is an international collaboration with musicians from the UK, Canada, Nashville, Fargo, and Bakersfield. Best known for backing up Johnny Cash on the bass for over a decade, Dave Roe can be heard keeping the groove on 5 songs featured on “Wilder Times”.
Jeffrey was born and raised in the plains of North Dakota before moving to California. Jeffrey was a co-founder and a songwriter in the rock band “The Fillers” who had great success touring all across the upper mid-west. 2022 is looking to become a breakout year for Jeffrey as he makes his return to the music scene with full force.
