New York based rock outfit SAVARRE have distinguished themselves from the pack by crafting a truly distinct sound and approach to music which they endearingly term as “Spectra Rock”. Spectra Rock encompasses an attitude as much as it is a display of avant-garde musicianship.

SAVARRE proclaims on their website, “We’re committed to full-spectrum expression. The music is us; we are the music and everything we produce has our blood running through it. We believe music is an alchemy medium and with that in mind, we strive to keep our music authentic and pure.”

The outfit lives up to that mantra and then some with their latest release single titled “Scars”, an exceptionally introspective and poignant song led by a magnanimous vocal performance of the multi-talented singer-songwriter, composer, playwright, and novelist Shannon Denise Evans.

Shannon provides insight into what the song personally entails for her, “For me, the experiences that created my scars made me stronger, smarter, and more resilient. I wear my scars proudly now; they are markers on a path that led me back to myself.”

The lyricism in “Scars” conveys that messaging brilliantly and the words are brought to life right before your eyes with every expressive note that Shannon sings. Her vocal delivery is majestic in its tone and presence, and she displays her vocal dexterity throughout the course of the song with a dynamic range of presentation. Particularly, as the song opens up leading into the ending climax, Shannon’s towering vocals take you on an extraordinary musical journey…. prowess and projection personified.

Shannon’s voice completely envelops your listening senses and is backed by an atmospheric, ethereal soundscape that projects a mysterious, cinematic type of aura. The pulsating electric bassline along with a haunting vocal interpolation careening in the background are tremendously gripping. These fluid elements are supported masterfully with a lofty drum track that hits and crashes with just the slightest amount of reverb that it springs through the instrumentation.

“Scars” is a wonderfully composed and thought-provoking song. It’s available on all streaming platforms (Spotify link below). Make sure to stream it! playlist it! and save it to your Favorites Library as well as share it on your social media platforms.
