Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival 2023 To be Headlined by Prominent International Talents…Lizzo, The Foo Fighters and The Strokes

The Fuji Rock Festival holds the distinction of being one of Japan’s longest running and most anticipated music showcases every year as well as being the country’s largest outdoor music festival. The event which first took place in 1997 is primed once again to be a bastion of entertainment in its 2023 edition.
The three-day festivities will be held across the weekend from July 28 through July 30 at Naebi Ski Resort located in Niigata Prefecture. Smash, the event organizer, has lined up a trio of prominent international acts to headline each of the three days. Chart-topping Pop/R&B star Lizzo will take to the main Green Stage on the Saturday while rock bands The Foo Fighters and The Strokes will be the main attractions on Friday and Sunday respectively.
Other premium international acts on the loaded Fuji Rock artist roster include singers Alanis Morissette and Dermot Kennedy, rock band Weezer, rapper Denzel Curry and British pop sensation Lewis Capaldi. In addition, Yo La Tengo, South Korean act Balming Tiger and Jatayu, fusion band from India are set to perform at the popular festival.

2023 marks the triumphant return of Fuji Rock to a post-pandemic normal in Japan as organizers experienced many obstacles in booking international acts in previous years due to pandemic related restrictions.
In 2021, Fuji Rock featured an entire roster of only Japanese artists while the 2022 version had a scattering of artists from abroad such as DJ and Producer Jonas Blue, pop star Halsey and 7-time GRAMMY nominees, Black Pumas. This year’s Fuji Rock will feature an eclectic and incredible mix of some of the best Japanese and international talents to be assembled for one event. It’s no wonder that the official theme according to the festival’s official website is the theme for this year’s event is “FEEL GREAT AT FUJI ROCK THIS SUMMER!”
Fuji Rock Festival 2023 is destined to be another landmark event in its storied history. It will surely attract its fair share of local music lovers and tourists alike clamoring to see some of their favorite acts as well as discovering new music.
