There have been examples of people with a particular passion for music throughout history. We often think of performers who succeeded against the nearly impossible odds of “making it big” as a musician. Savvy Turtle is one of these people who made noteworthy contributions to music.
Savvy Turtle is an entrepreneur and best-selling author who grew up in New Orleans before attending college. As a musician, he plays drums and sometimes jazz violin. He also has a background in photography and remodeling homes for homeless veterans.
Having no parents to care for him, many struggles followed in his youth. But through the help of a country and patience, he made it and joined the army while earning a doctorate in astrophysics. Unfortunately, his injury required major adjustments, and he felt overwhelmed. He started over to start a new life journey with new goals,
He wrote and composed the Rock The Shell Album while at Walter Reed from 2005 to 2007. It took him until 2017 to rebuild his body, and it was a visit from Def Leppard and his YouTube friend, Casey Cooper, that also served as an inspiration. After two successful years of recovery and rehab, he was ready to release the final product for his chapter in Walter Reed in 2019.
He wanted all of his audio to be clearer and easier to hear. He also wanted to outsource some parts of the recording process to focus on other, more important work tasks. It was difficult to imagine what would happen in the future, but Savvy Turtle put his passion and willingness down on paper. It enabled him to become a pioneer in history while creating unique art.
