Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)Joseph Akinfenwa, aka Joeboy , is one of Nigeria’s fast-rising music artists. The 22-year-old went from singing in his bathroom to topping music charts in Uganda , Zimbabwe , and Nigeria in the space of a few months. In 2017, unsigned, he released a cover of Ed […]

Joeboy, now a poster boy for the benefits that come with being a part of the program, says emPawa is similar to a music foundation for emerging African talents.

In collaboration with emPawa, YouTube is also focusing on initiatives to bring more African artists to the global stage.

Hey everybody, how’s it going today? The quotes above are attributed to an article written on CNN.com.

It details the growing emergence of organizations like emPawa and their collaborations with YouTube to assist rising African artists in their musical development.

Speaking specifically on emPawa, it has become an immensely influential resource in bringing emerging African artists to the forefront globally.

emPawa was created in part by Afropop sensation Mr. Eazi. The Nigerian born artist has been instrumental in the success and implementation of the various initiatives of the organization.

My take is that the organization is critical not only because it’s providing an avenue for rising artists to grow and succeed.

emPawa’s true value is that it is not only providing the lane for artists to grow, but instructing them on the tools to create these lanes for themselves!

The organizations forcus on content creation, entrepreneurship and artist development just to name a few are invaluable to developing artists.

I see emPawa’s influence expanding even further as media giant YouTube, spearheaded by their global head of music, Lyor Cohen, has partnered with emPawa to advance its initiatives.

Please chime in. I’m curious to know your thoughts.
